The cocktail reception, for the 2008 International Aid + Trade Event, was held inside a 44 ft. Pacific Dome at the PALEXPO in Geneva, Switzerland. It was a huge hit and it gave attendees a unique place to unwind, enjoy a drink, and interact with other members of the humanitarian community. Aid + Trade is an international platform that creates partnerships between aid agencies, UN organizations, business and government with the goal of providing coordinated relief to people in disaster areas all over the world.

Domes for the World continues to make international news for its rebuilding efforts in the earthquake-stricken region of Indonesia. The Brisbane Times of Australia reported on the newly constructed village of New Nglepen in its May 29th edition saying that some youngsters have dubbed the Monolithic Ecoshell Domes “Teletubby houses,” in a reference to the British television series for children. Click here to read about local reaction to the dome homes, which have replaced traditional houses that were flattened by the earthquake.
