Shelters for Freedom Worldwide is a nonprofit organization. It exists solely for the purpose of providing temporary shelter for homeless victims of natural disaster, globally. All donations received are funneled directly into the cost of providing shelters. Our administrative offices are manned by volunteer staff only. Our commitment to benefactors is to provide a photo of the family in receipt of the donation whenever possible.

We have chosen a shelter that will provide both immediate and long term housing for families left homeless by Katrina, a geodesic dome, the strongest, portable structure known to man. It has a steel frame, engineered to handle heavy snow and hurricane winds, which can be erected in hours with a hand ratchet. The cover is made of durable, 5 to 7 year longevity fabric. Windows and screens are plentiful, and a Solar Fan will provide ample ventilation. The vinyl “Tub” flooring with a perimeter board will remain dry with up to 3″ of standing ground water. A “Sun Mar” composting toilet is user friendly, non-offensive and environmentally friend.
